Trending Threads Vol. 2

The second installment of a part of the blog called "Trending Threads" has arrived. For those of you who don't know, "Trending Threads" is a compilation of things I've loved for the past few months. This time 'round there are far more tangible objects, so I'm ditching the "Hello"/"Goodbye" format to better showcase some of the things I've received lately. Many of the things I'll be talking about have already been mentioned on the blog.

Keep on reading to read my opinions on these products along with a music playlist.

I've become more of a make-up person these past few months. I have begun to wear gel eyeliner again and while I love cat-eye liner, I hate it when my eye makeup gets smeared all over. To prevent any fallout or raccoon-eye situations, I've been using MAC Cosmetics' Prep + Prime Fix+ for my finishing mist. I've also been using coconut oil to remove eye make-up, but the jar is too "loved" to be photographed.

A pair of products I have been using has been the Sephora lip liner and Buxom lipstick in Nothin' but Nude and Sinful Cinnamon, respectively. This matte Buxom shade is a Sephora-exclusive, so up until recently it had been sold out everywhere. I am not very adventurous when it comes to lip colors, but I love the formula of the lipstick to the point where I'm willing to buy a shade that isn't "my lips but better."  I swatched the colors below, but I was also wearing this lip combination in my last outfit post!

One make-up product I do not wear is foundation. This is mainly because I hardly ever get breakouts, so I feel like covering my face in paint will mess up my skin. However, I have been really into highlighting. Most glittery/pearly highlights look super chalky on my skin, but thankfully Glossier recently came out with their own highlight. I have their Haloscope in Topaz, which is made to moisturize and give your skin a sun kissed glow. As you can tell by the photo I've already used it and I love it. This is honestly a shameless brag about my new sunglasses. I mentioned my newfound love for the color red and this specific pair of sunglasses in my Lust List #2. I think that should be proof enough that the law of attraction works, people! I love the SL 98s even if opinions on them are extremely polarizing.

I love this choker from Nasty Gal solely because it's a muthafckin' choker made of stars. The clasp on the back is tarnishing, but hey, you get what you pay for. As for the vintage launch pins, I'm still obsessed with them and they're less than the price of new ones.

Finally, we have two of the books I've had on my radar for forever. I have yet to finish The Circle by Dave Eggers, but so far it's really good. I'm lovin' the fact that it's a female protagonist in a sci-fi centered book. The second book is The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. I started it last summer, but never followed through. This year I'm determined to finish it because my girl Brie Larson will be in the film adaptation.

The playlist I have been curating and adding tracks to have been my "California" playlist. I was inspired by the tracks "Drive (Los Angeles)" by Lolawolf and "Made in Hollywood" by LANY along with the soundtracks from Drive and Palo Alto. You can listen to this playlist whenever, but I had moments like the sunsetting and "chillin' night with friends" in mind while I was putting it together.

Let me know what you thought of the things mentioned in this post. Don't forget to use my coupon code when you shop on glossier ( Let me know if you liked the playlist too.
